Roundtable Meeting of IGAD Foreign Ministers and IGAD Secretariat, EU and UNHCR

On 29 September 2017, a roundtable meeting was held in Brussels between IGAD Foreign Ministers and the IGAD Secretariat, UNHCR and EU, who represent the core group supporting a process generating a comprehensive regional approach to address the protracted plight of Somali refugees. This followed a landmark event held in Nairobi on March 25 2017, where IGAD Heads of State and Government met at a Special Summit on Durable Solutions for Somali Refugees and Reintegration of Returnees in Somalia. The September roundtable meeting discussed the key challenges and priorities in delivering the Nairobi Declaration and Plan of Action agreed at the Summit.
