As part of the community stabilisation programmes in Libya, the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa is providing funding to train young Libyans and support their innovative ideas through the Tatweer Entrepreneurship Campus (TEC), a three year initiative to support start-ups by providing training, consulting, mentoring, office space and financial aid.

Fatima Nasser is 21 years old and was born in Sabha, south-western Libya. She is one of the young Libyan entrepreneurs supported by the EUTF for Africa to develop their businesses in the country. Fatima Nasser and Aziza Adam are the co-creators of a food delivery app called Yummy! which delivers meals cooked at home by local women. Even though, it was only launched in August 2018, Yummy! has already been used by more 200 customers who were reached through social media, with more than 500 meals cooked an delivered across Libya. The app provides job opportunities for both men and women in the service delivery. It now operates in Sebha, Tripoli and Benghazi, with 10 people employed. The Yummy story was also featured in the 2018 Women’s day campaign in Libya.

Overall, 2.500 young entrepreneurs were assisted in Libya with job training programmes to develop economic income-generating activities and around 20 start-ups have received funding for their creation.
