EU Delegation to South Sudan helps spread information on COVID19 risks and prevention across country through school-teachers

Education: Key to COVID19 Prevention in South Sudan
EU

The European Union has teamed up with the Government of South Sudan, UNICEF, Mott MacDonald, Charlie Goldsmith Associates and Equity Bank to provide information on the risk of COVID-19 and its prevention to school personnel across South Sudan.
Teachers are key members in their communities; are listened to by all generations and can greatly help in fighting COVID-19 in the community, even as school is currently suspended. All over South Sudan, teachers will receive in the coming days 32,000 leaflets with simple messages and pictures on how to prevent COVID-19. The prompt delivery has been made possible by building on the long-standing support to education by the EU, which has paid salary incentives to 30,000 primary school teachers for the past two years through the IMPACT project.
Using the tools of education is key to increasing health awareness in South Sudan. This will be useful in COVID-19 prevention and beyond.
