The Joint Police Programme, implemented by United Nations Office for Project Services(UNOPS) and funded by the Emergency Trust Fund for Africa, has supported the Somali Police Force and Community Policing Directorate to develop and deliver an outreach campaign for community awareness and prevention for the COVID response.

Officers from 23 police stations and headquarters in the Benadir region began delivering flyers, postcards, and posters to communities in the city and surrounding area and will continue to do so throughout the coming months.

Hand wash instructional video was part of the digital outreach.

These activities are part of a broader push by the Federal Government of Somalia and the United Nations and its partners to deliver essential life saving messaging and support to the Somali people in Benadir and the federal member states throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
