Building Sustainable Peace and Reconciliation in South Sudan

In September 2018 a Revitalised Agreement on the resolution of the conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS) was signed. This is a step in the right direction towards peace in the country. This project aims to sustain reconciliation initiatives and promote accountability mechanisms and justice.

Main objectives

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to building sustainable peace and reconciliation in South Sudan.

1. Facilitate reconciliation, with a focus on grass-roots / local level
2. Support oversight, monitoring and accountability mechanisms of peace agreement / peace process
3. Promote a comprehensive approach to transitional justice
